Terms and Conditions

UCCA reserves the right of membership listing of members who have full subscription and have shown a resolute commitment to the association’s objectives and consistently participates in the realization of the association’s both mission and vision objectives. Membership of the Association is open to both Ugandans and Non- Ugandan cargo shippers in the Uganda, whilst the association will also consider applications from other organizations or establishments critical to the shipping industry on a case by case basis.
Members of the association are committed to maintain the highest standards of the safety and other regulatory compliance standards as well as best industry practices.
By joining UCCA, you will benefit from our main objective which includes:
To promote the interest of Uganda cargo shippers and to provide a forum for dialogue between Uganda cargo shippers among themselves and with any other interests on topical issues, policies and practices pertaining to the business of shippers and management.
To facilitate participation of Uganda cargo shippers in International fora on shipping matters, through effective representation in such meetings.
To cultivate and maintain good relations with the government and authorities by contributing expertise in formulating policies and regulations on National Shipping and activities.
To vigorously pursue training, re-training, employment and welfare of Uganda cargo shippers.
To contribute to the development of the shipping industry by promoting, encouraging, supporting and patronizing warehousing yards located in and owned by Ugandans.
To support the government and relevant agencies in the compliance with applicable IMO and ILO Instruments.
To promote and support the growth and development of the shipping business of members.
No person or company may claim to be a member of UCCA unless that person or company holds a valid registration certificate issued by UCCA.
All member’s must
– Have a working telephone, fax, and email address.
– Have a letter of appointment from the office headquarters stamped and signed on by the personnel in charge of appointment.
– Be trained in the relevant customs e-manifest filling program or any other programs in the transportation industry
– Know basic port and airport documentation requirements and operational procedures
– Must be proposed and seconded by members of the general body
